Nottingham Elementary School
Arlington, VA
Size:
71,000 SF
Originally constructed in 1951, Nottingham Elementary School was undersized and did not meet current Arlington County Public Schools Design Guidelines. Samaha’s modernization design included a complete renovation, with the exception of the recently added gymnasium; a reconfiguration of the site circulation and parking; and extensive new program areas. Additional spaces include classrooms, a teachers’ work area, a computer lab, offices and testing areas, a media center, art suite, music suite, and reading rooms. A new administrative suite and lobby enhance visual supervision, while strategic zoning concepts allow for extensive community use.
