INOVA Fairfax Hospital in Falls Church, VA

Between 2006 and 2008, Samaha performed a feasibility study, prepared construction documents, and managed construction for upgrading the existing angiography suite at INOVA Fairfax Hospital. This work included the installation of a new biplane angio-cardiography system and the reorganization and renovation of the following spaces:

• Procedure room 
• Control room 
• Equipment room 
• Exam rooms 
• Locker rooms 
• Physician offices 
• Patient reception and waiting area 
• Patient consultation rooms 
 

Scope of work included architectural, structural, mechanical, plumbing, and electrical design. The lead shielding requirements for the spaces were also coordinated with the medical physic and equipment vendor. A key facet of the project was planning for construction phasing so that occupied areas of the suite continued uninterrupted operations throughout the process.
