Samaha successfully designed the Prince William County Fire Station #26 on a tight site by creating a two-story facility and minimizing the site area dedicated to systems through incorporating mezzanines and mechanical systems that do not require exterior boilers or cooling towers. The design meets all of fire and rescue’s programmatic needs within the budget and initial programmed square footage. This station included public presentations and a requirement for visual compatibility with a previously designed adjacent police station. Our strength in 3D modeling of concept designs and animations was critical in clearly conveying the design information to a variety of stakeholders with varying levels of experience interpreting conventional building plans.
